Jill Vogel is a nationally recognized attorney and native Virginian. She has held national legal and policy positions in and out of government, including serving as Deputy General Counsel at the Department of Energy. As managing partner of a law firm that specializes in charity and non-profit organizations, election law and ethics, she was named a 'top lawyer in her field' in the Washingtonian Best Lawyers editions for 2007, 2008 and 2009.
In 2007, Jill was elected to the State Senate of Virginia, representing the City of Winchester, Frederick County, Clarke County, Fauquier County and parts of Loudoun County. The 2011 redistricting of the 27th district resulted in the addition of parts of Culpeper County and parts of Stafford County. In 2010, Jill was appointed to the Prison Re-Entry Commission and the Governor's Transportation Workgroup. In 2011, she was appointed Deputy Whip for the Senate Republican Caucus and was also appointed to the Domestic Violence Prevention and Response Advisory Board.
Jill also serves on numerous committees and working groups, including the Senate Rehabilitation and Social Services Committee, the Committee on General Laws and Technology and the Privileges and Elections Committee. She has co-chaired the Joint Subcommittee to Study Development and Land Use Tools and is a member of the Rappahannock River Basin Commission. She has twice served as a Trustee of the Board of the Virginia Outdoors Foundation, and serves on the Board of Directors of Belle Grove Plantation.
Born and raised in the Shenandoah Valley, Jill is a wife, mother and small business owner. She volunteers her time helping civic and charitable organizations. Jill resides in Fauquier County with her husband and children.
